How Probiotics Saved Me

My cancer journey was far worse that almost anyone else that I knew. I had been deathly sick the entire time once I started Chemotherapy. Prior to cancer, I had been dealing with Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I had greatly feared that these symptoms would get much worse once Chemo started, and I was right! I struggled every single day from the time I woke up until I dosed off numerous times, and until bedtime every single day! I constantly struggled with nausea and vomited if I tried to eat ANYTHING, and I had severe stomach cramps around the clock. Some of this was due to the fact that I was not having normal bowel movements. Many times I went as long as 5 DAYS without a bowel movement! I did not know this was even possible, but I am here to tell you that it does happen. And it makes one very uncomfortable and very sick! My doctors tried many drugs and almost all of them failed miserably.

About three months into this horrific journey, my husband suggested I start taking Probiotics. We had discussed it several times before, but because they are fairly expensive, we had pretty much put the thought on the back burner. But with me getting sicker and sicker as time went on, we decided I should at least try Probiotics. We had to cut other expenses to try to buy the Probiotics. The ones we decided to purchase cost $56.00 for a bottle of 60. The suggested dosage is 2 tablets a day, but we decided to try just one to start. That way they would last me 2 months. Also, like everything else, relief is not immediate. You have to take them for at least a month before any improvement takes affect.

So I started down that road. One more pill to take on a daily basis along with numerous other drugs – what the heck?? What is one more??
